ASPE Education Board Adds Two New Programs:

“Building Information Modeling (BIM) with an Emphasis on Green Construction”

The purpose of this class is to give the student an overall and elementary understanding of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) concepts. As an introductory course to BIM, we will study the history and implementation of BIM and how it is used within sustainable design. The course will investigate workflow development including estimating, bidding, quantity take off, project management, supervision and the inter-relations of BIM team members. We will look at how companies are using BIM to reduce errors and change orders and how that relates to construction costs savings. Class info coming soon!

 “Fundamentals of Green Building Design and Construction”

The purpose of this course is to give the student an overview of design and construction delivery systems for high performance green buildings. We will look at the US Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) in some detail. Sustainability evaluation systems will be reviewed.
