2008 ASPE NATIONAL ESTIMATING ACADEMY & CONVENTION MAY BE BIGGEST EVER

July 9 – 12, 2008 – Baltimore, Maryland

A combination of location and growth of membership may put this summer’s

events in Baltimore way ahead of attendance from years past.

“There is just nothing like it elsewhere in the construction industry. The

estimating professional is front and center at this event and there is lots of

buzz. Tens of thousands of estimating professionals live and work within

easy driving distance of Baltimore’s inner harbor and it is just a great  place

to visit, network and learn for a couple of days” commented ASPE Executive

agenda for Friday July 11”.

Joining the estimating academy which runs Wednesday July 9 and Thursday

July 10 will be speakers from some of the most important trade associations

in our industry.  Deke Smith, Executive Director  from buildingSMART

Alliance a component of NIBS (www.nibs.org) will talk about “Using BIM to

Manage Facility Costs”, Walter Marlowe, Executive Director / CEO from CSI

(www.csinet.org) will highlight “How CSI Affects Estimators”   and Greg

Sizemore, executive Vice President  of CURT (www.curt.org) the lunch key

note speaker  head up the all start list. In addition professors from Oklahoma

State will be there to survey members in a project in conjunction with the

Construction Institute an Peter Richen-BECHTEL Corporation, Senior

Estimator will give an overview of Bechtel estimating approaches to bidding ,

tools and databases they use.
