Conflicting Drawings

Posted By Ken Horner, Friday, May 18, 2018

What do you do when the drawings are incomplete and have conflicting notes and symbols?

After a call to the engineer, you would think that it would be clarified; but that is not always the case.

When it isn’t clear, I suggest you be very specific in your scope letter, detailing the content in your estimate so you don’t get caught after the project bids.  But generally speaking, most GC’s focus on the bottom number and don’t always read the scope letter.  When putting it in the scope letter, I highlight it in bold and underline it with the conflicts so if the GC reads, it will be clear.
