AEP Frequently Asked Questions

ASPE member fee: $185

Non-ASPE member fee: $200

Program fees are all-inclusive and non-refundable.

Candidates will receive a GEK Study Guide to assist in preparation for the GEK exam.

Candidates must complete the following within three months:

  • Submit the online application and pay the AEP program registration fee
  • Read the AEP Handbook
  • Achieve a minimum score of 70% on the General Estimating Knowledge (GEK) exam. The GEK exam is a four-hour online, proctored exam.

To maintain the AEP designation, you must meet the following annual renewal requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 Professional Development Units (PDUs) must be earned and supporting documentation submitted via an online PDU journal
  • Complete and submit the annual AEP renewal application
  • Remit payment of annual AEP renewal fees:

    ASPE member annual AEP renewal fee: $50

    Non-ASPE member annual AEP renewal fee: $350

ASPE strives to keep the program fees as low as possible. However, we do not accept financial aid or offer any payment plans. Program fees must be paid in full before you are considered a candidate and are allowed to begin the program.
